Get the most out of your PC – Upgrade Your Memory With Kingmax DDR

Here is a little lesson about Memory - which we hope you will not forget! When people talk about the amount of RAM a computer has in terms of Gigabytes, as “I have 1 Gigabyte of RAM” What they are really talking about is DRAM. DRAM stands for Dynamic Random Access Memory. DRAM is called “Dynamic” because it must be constantly refreshed to keep the information that it is storing. DRAM will continually “read” the data it has stored, and rewrite it to the storage media.

As processor technology has been improving in leaps and bounds over the last few years, making computers far faster and more powerful, memory technology has not always kept pace. All the processing power in the world will not help you, if you do not have memory read/write capacity that is equally as fast. Enter SDRAM. SDRAM is Synchronous DRAM. Synchronous DRAM increases the speed and abilities of DRAM by “synching” the memory speed to the clock pulse put out by your computers CPU. Without getting overly technical what this synchronization does is allow a process called pipelining. Pipelining effectively allows SDRAM to read and write requests at the same time. Ordinary SDRAM is SDR – or Single Data Rate. DDR is – Double Data Rate SDRAM, and it is an improvement over SDR. By transferring data twice per cycle of the pulse, DDR doubles the bandwidth and memory speeds of SDR.

Kingmax has been a standout leader in memory and improving memory technology. Their proprietary Tiny BGA technology has improved the capacity and performance for many cards and memory storage devices and is now doing the same for DDR. In order to accommodate continuing hardware advances, memory module manufacturers like Kingmax have responded swiftly by releasing an all-new memory architecture: DDR2 memory. The main advantage of DDR2 over DDR1 is a manufacturing process that significantly increases bandwidth, preventing computer bottlenecks. Just as DDR1 had double the transfer rate over traditional SDR, DDR2 doubles the transfer rate of DDR1!

Using Kingmax’s superior packing technology Kingmax DDR modules not only deliver higher performance, the specialized BGA packaging provides easier chip assembly, superior electrical conductivity and reduced signal latency to permit higher frequency operation and superior heat dispersion – all critical in the intense DDR2 environment.

As a global leader in the memory industry, Kingmax is the world's first memory manufacturer to possess its own advanced packaging and testing equipment and completely integrated vertical supply chain. With this advantage they continue to advance the state of the art of memory technology, and put out chips, cards and modules that are the gold standard of the industry.
